Membership Classification

These actions will be brought to the AGM and a vote will be cast to allow these to be added into the constitution as bylaws and implemented for the year 2010 / 2011.
Membership Fees
The membership year will run from April 1 to March 31
Invoices for payment will be sent on April 1
All membership fees to be paid within 90 days
There will be an option to either pay subscriptions in full or over 12 equal payments.
Any money received will go towards fulfilling previous arrears first. Important If you are unable to pay due to financial difficulties and have discussed this with the Treasurer, you will always be classed as a member. However, it is asked that you enter into a payment plan with the society and agree to a regular payment that is affordable.

Membership Categories

Local Branch Contributor
No voting rights locally or nationally
Contribution comprises local and national fees 
MC Member
Voting rights only at national level
Subscription comprises only of national fee
Full Member
Voting rights both at local and national level
Subscription comprises of local and national fees
For all individuals aged 18 and over
Life Member
Voting rights by default at the national level
May choose to contribute to the local branch by paying only branch component of the membership fees and gain local vote
Youth Member
No voting rights locally or nationally.
Subscription comprises of local and national fees with a 50% discount
For all individuals aged between 13 and 17

Senior Member
Voting rights both at local and national level
Subscriptions not required for those aged 66 and over
Contribution comprises local branch component.
Must have been a full member for the previous 10 consecutive years.

 

 







New Members
There is a £2 charge by the society for all new membership applications received.
The local branch will also have the power to determine their own joining fee for new members.
There will be a probationary period of 2 years before a new member can hold a post on the committee either at local or national level.
Members Rights
Those that are members of the society will enjoy the following benefits  Voting rights at the AGM Inclusion on the notification list of events (post, SMS and e-mail) Subsidised tickets for the Eid Function and any other subscription events
In addition, local branches may adopt their own local policies in order to encourage individuals to become members.
A list of all members of the society will be available from your Treasurer.
