The Marriage Bureau

Due to popular demand the next Marriage Bureau event will be held on:

Saturday 18th September 2010 in Birmingham, UK

This is following the successful singles event that was held in Leicester in February 2010. Click for details

We ask you to support and promote this event to adults aged 20 years and older who are single and enthusiastic to meet new people. We would like you to spread the word to your families in the UK and abroad who can experience our great Eid Function celebration at the same time.
This event is open to all Dawoodi Bohras.

What is it?

The Marriage Bureau was introduced after The 2004 United Dawoodi Bohra Reformist Conference in the UK. The premise was to ease the introduction of potential partners who would otherwise not be able to find each other.

Currently the Marriage Bureau is run by a team headed by Nasreen Rajabali from Birmingham, UK.

Where do I start?

So that time in your life has arrived and you are ready to find that special someone... How the Marriage bureau works:

  1. You email Nasreen informing her that you would like find a partner, along with two recent photos.

  2. Nasreen will send you an application form, that you will need to fill out and send back to her.

  3. Considering your requirements, she will then introduce you to somebody who she feels will be compatible with you.

  4. And the rest is up to you... And Inshallah, if it all goes well then you know the rest.

NB. If you feel that after starting the process, you are not compatible with the person you have been matched with, then that's OK! However you must inform Nasreen as soon as you are sure.

Things I should be aware of: 

  • The Marriage Bureau system is totally confidential. Your details will only be passed on to 'potentials' if their details are passed on to you.

  • The Marriage Bureau is an introduction service ONLY.

  • The service is available to male and females of all ages but must be Dawoodi Bohras.

  • All correspondence with The Marriage Bureau is sent via email only.

  • You must provide a working email address and mobile number.

  • If the match does work out, please ensure that you inform Nasreen, so that she can delete your details.

This process does work, has worked for many people thus far, and will Inshallah work for you too, but you have to be efficient at your end.  It may take time or you may be lucky the first time around, but whatever the situation, you must keep an open mind and really be ready to find your life partner.
